Donkey Bridge, Norland.

Donkey Bridge crossers the Maple Dean Clough, Near Norland, West Yorkshire. It can be found by following North Dean Road up from Copley to the hairpin bend and then following the woodland path in the direction of Norland, or alternatively from Norland you follow Pickwood Lane towards the end and a small steep cobbled path down to the bridge is hidden away here. Normally in the summer this is quite overgrown, and in the winter gets very wet and icy.

Donkey Bridge and the path towards and away from it form part of an old packhorse rout connecting the villages of Copley and Norland, plus larger settlements beyond. Their has been a bridge crossing here for many years as part of this route, the wooden section being replaced, the original stone supports still stand to support its modern crossing, these are overgrown by moss and vegetation but looking very stable despite there age.

The total of 6 pictures were taken on the 8th March 2014 using a Polaroid is2132 Bridge Camera. They can be seen below or full size, resolution and un-watermarked on Clickasnap.
