Allan Park, Sowerby Bridge.

Image
Allan Park is a small public park built in to woodland and the hillside of Norland giving outstanding views of Sowerby Bridge and the nearby area. The park was opened in 1922 in the former grounds of Allan House which is now a health centre and offers limited facilities with a small children's playground and a bowing green being about the main of them. The Rishworth Branch line Scar Head Tunnel runs directly underneath the park and some of the many woodland paths that run through it lead to the top of the eastern tunnel portal. The park is easily accessed as its entrance sits opposite the Jubilee refreshment rooms and former coal hoppers at Sowerby Bridge Railway Station.

Portinatx, Ibiza. An Album of Pictures.

Image
Portinatx is a small resort on the northern coast of Ibiza popular with families. I visited in July 2014 and whilst the scenery is stunning, the beaches clean and not over crowded, there is not much in the way of things to do. The transfer from the airport took approx. 45mins and once you arrive in Portinatx it is hard to visit the rest of the island of Ibiza due to the remoteness of the town. There are infrequent bus services, a tourist Train(bus), a few boat trips away from the resort and a couple of car rentals. The town has a few large hotel complexes and a number of restaurants and 3 beaches. Portinatx is surrounded by woodland, cliffs and water which makes the views from all the hotels stunning, and a walk up to the Punta Moscarter Lighthouse is worth a visit as is the pirate tower overlooking the entrance to the cove. The area is also home to the Ibiza Wall Lizard.

The walk takes you through Abel Cote Wood and Middle Dean Woods whilst following close to Crimsworth Dean Beck on the walk up to the Lumb Falls. This set of pictures were taken on the 24th September 2016 using a Nikon d3300 camera.
